Comparison
I drew three face over my time the one on the far left is when i began art and didn't know how to draw a face the one in the middle i just learned how to draw a face and was trying it for the first time. the one on the far right is the last one did after finishing art. All the things i learned in art helped me to get better and progress. We learned contrast a term that refers to the darkness and lightness of something in comparison that works together and looks nice. Proportion was another thing that we learned which was very helpful to learn it is, the size of objects in comparison to each other. in this case the eyes, nose, mouth, and chin. To accomplish this look i used burnishing which is a layering or blending of colors or pencil to achieve a smooth blended look, i used this in the hair and cheeks. Art has helped me to improve and with more practice it will look even better.
Most successful art project
I think my most successful piece of art this semester was my skull that i made out of clay and then painted to look like a skull from the holiday The Day of The Dead. I think this is my most successful piece art because i took a material i don't use often, clay, and molded it into a very complex piece for me. After it was fired I painted coming up with ideas was really hard so i asked my table which i think helped add to the piece so i knew what other people might like to see on this piece other than me. I really liked the background of black idea i think it really added to the piece.

Taking risks
I never thought of using wood as a material i mainly like to draw. I looked through the box of art supplies left behind and I found wood, beads, a necklace, and a baby show with a bow on it.  with it I decided to make my younger sister a door hanger with her name on it. So I first sanded the wood and prepped it to be painted. I painted it all white as a base after it dried I added dark and light blue dots on one side and dark blue stripes on the other with the words Don't Disturb on the back too. Later that day I was talked to her and she told me her favorite color was pink so I found some pink beads in the box and hot glued them on the dark blue spots. I then attached the blue necklace to hang it up adding a bow on the top. I think this added to my art for this semester because it helped me to realize even if you're not
comfortable with a material it can be fun and different to use so it made me more comfortable to use different materials.

A Media I Enjoyed Using
I enjoyed using Chalk pastels and oil pastels with each other. The two together looked great together and i enjoyed doing it, because it was fun and different. The way the chalk pastels blended looked really good it was a little messy but fun. One thing that i think i could have changed was that  i could have filled in the white spots in the oil pastels.  Oil pastels were not as fun and easy to blend but they were fun i would really enjoy to do the whole project in chalk pastels.

Do Over

If i had a choice I would do this project over because I wanted to do something different but it was too hard and I wasn't sure how it would turn out so i decided to try a different idea. I got the idea from Nivi. I would really like to do it over and do my other idea but if i couldn't do that i would have planned this project out better so I wouldn't have ended up coloring the background in colored pencils. I would have started with painting the background in a very light blue then drew and painted the design. I liked it overall if i had chose to do the background different i would like it better.
